Aircast

Rebroadcast to X (Twitter)

Last updated July 2, 2026

💡 To go live on X you need an X Premium (or Premium+) subscription, as streaming via RTMP requires access to X Media Studio.

Step 1: Set up your input

Firstly you need to set up your input source.

Step 2: Get your stream key from X Media Studio

To add X as an output, you’ll need to get your stream key from X first.

Go to studio.x.com/live/sources and log in with your X account.

  1. Click Create Source in the top right corner.
  2. Give your source a name (for example “Aircast”), make sure RTMP is selected, and choose the region closest to you.
  3. Click Create.

Copy the stream key from the field labelled RTMP stream key.

Your source is reusable, so you only need to do this once — you can use the same stream key every time you go live.

Step 3: Add the output on Aircast

Back over on Aircast, click Add Stream Output, and then select X.

In the box that appears, paste your stream key into the field labelled Stream Key.

Step 4: Create a broadcast on X

In Media Studio, go to the Broadcasts tab and click Create Broadcast.

Give your broadcast a title and description, optionally upload a thumbnail image, and under Source select the source you created in step 2.

Step 5: Start rebroadcasting

💡 You must go live on your input platform before starting your outputs.

Assuming you’re live on your input, you should now be ready to start rebroadcasting. Simply click the little play icon or enable auto start on both the input and outputs.

Step 6: Go live on X

Open your broadcast in Media Studio Producer. Once Aircast is sending your stream you should see a preview of it playing. When you’re happy with it, start the broadcast to publish it to your timeline.

Notes

  • Keep your stream key private — anyone with it can stream to your source.
  • X limits accounts to 100 sources. You shouldn’t ever get close to this since sources are reusable, but if you do hit the limit, delete old sources in Media Studio.
